Born in Kuala Lumpur on 23rd Sept 1951, YBhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Musa Bin Tan Sri Hj Hassan joined the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) in 1969 at the age of 18 years old.

He holds a Diploma in law from the University of Aberystwyth, Wales, United Kingdom, he had served RMP as Deputy Director of Prosecution, Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Department in 1995 before being promoted to Deputy Police Commissioner in 2005 and entrusted as Police Chief of Johor until the year 2006.

After 36 years in the service, YBhg Tan Sri Musa was appointed as the 8th Inspector General of Police (IGP) in 2006 after Malaysia’s independence. He held the post of IGP until 2010 before retiring on September 12, 2010 with 40 years of experience in leading the reign of RMP.

YBhg. Tan Sri is renowned for his personal principles, “SINCERE, HONEST, TRUST AND COOPERATION,” which has become guidance for police officers and police lower rank personnel in bringing RMP to international recognition.

Not a person who wants to spend his retirement age to rest, YBhg Tan Sri has chosen to continue his contribution to the country and society by educating the young generation. YBhg Tan Sri Musa is an invitation Lecturer at Centre for Media and Information Warfare Studies, Faculty of Media & Communication Studies, MARA Technology University, and held various position in a private limited company. The latest he has embarked in helping the needy where he has ventured in agriculture development in Kuala Krai, Kelantan.
